About SOAR
Student Opportunities for Academic Achievement through Research
SOAR is a competitive program that provides full-time research experiences to UofSC SOM medical students during the summer following their first year. This program is sponsored by the Office of the Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Education and allows UofSC SOM medical students to conduct research under the direction of an established basic or clinical scientist.
